SKI ACADEMY SWITZERLAND - ISIA/ISTD
Welcome to the ISIA/ISTD instructor page where you will find details about further training including ISIA/ISTD boot camps (for all systems), teacher training, internships and specific bump courses and PSIA educational updates. This page is purely for qualified instructors wishing to take their training further whether it be as a technical or teaching focus.
ISIA Bootcamps
The ISIA 'boot camp' is available for all ISIA instructors in any system. This no nonsense course ranges from 1 to 4 weeks and will purely concentrate on the technical aspect of your skiing to reach your goal of the ISIA standard by the end of course. The boot camp will include all the strands needed for the ISIA level including bumps, high speed, variable terrain, lower end teaching progressions and piste performance. Each student will receive personal development focusing on problem areas within their own skiing.
The course will be delivered throughout the season and in resorts where they have the most variable and challenging coditions for the ISIA level.
The ISIA boot camp includes (per week):
- 30 hours Personal Skiing Performance per week
- 6 hours off snow analysis
- End of course plan of action
Costs per week: £225 course fees only
Pre-requisites
Students need to have their first snow level qualification (e.g. PSIA Level 1 or BASI Level 2) before applying to the course. Please be aware that the course is a technical course where
we ski hard and fast and don't stand around talking in groups so a certain amount of fitness is essential!
ISIA Teacher Training
The ISIA Teacher Training weeks are available for all aspirant ISIA instructors in any system. This one week course course will purely concentrate on the teacher training aspect of the ISIA. The teacher training week will give ample time for instructors to experiment and to work out the most effective way of teaching and improving their fellow peers within the group. This will include creative teaching, teaching movement and skills and movement assessment during the week. Each student will receive feedback on their teaching sessions appropriate to the ISIA level.
The courses will be delivered throughout the season and in resorts where they have the most variable and challenging conditions for the ISIA level.
The ISIA boot camp includes (per week):
- 30 hours Personal Skiing Performance per week
- 6 hours off snow advice including drills, action plans and lesson planning
- End of course plan of action
Costs per week: £225 course fees only
Pre-requisites
Students need to have their first snow level qualification (e.g. PSIA Level 1 or BASI Level 2) before applying to the course. It is advisable before attending this course
that students read their governing body technical and teaching manual so maximum benefit is achieved throughout the week.
ISIA Partnerships
We have four places available to work, train and be part of the SAS coaching team in Austria and Switzerland. This is a unique opportunity to progress quickly to the ISIA teaching and technical level training and working in some of the best ski areas in the world. All our ISIA internships have succeeded in a 100% pass rate at both the technical and teaching level.

Bump Skiing
ISIA bump skiing is one of the greatest challenges (and fears!) a student can face. We will be using our specialist bump ski coaches who will give you the knowledge, skills and the latest modern techniques to tackle any mogul field to the required ISIA standard.
The coaches will provide you with constant feedback throughout the ski day with video sessions and personal development programmes in the evening.
A typical week's course includes:
- 25 hrs + Personal mogul ski performance
- Video Analysis
- Evening feedback sessions (optional)
- SAS evaluation and debrief
We have many programmes to suit and these can vary in length from 1 to 4 weeks focusing on clients specific needs. Please contact the office for a tailored programme.
